Birmingham have 'made John Terry a good offer' - Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT that Birmingham City have made a "good offer" to sign former Chelsea captain John Terry on a free transfer, and said that the 36-year-old is still good enough to "play for anybody."
Terry is leaving Chelsea at the end of his contract this summer after 22 years at Stamford Bridge, and is weighing up offers from several clubs against the possibility of retiring and pursuing a career in coaching.
Bournemouth, West Brom and Aston Villa have all been linked with signing Terry, and Redknapp -- who signed a one-year deal at Birmingham City in May after helping the club avoid relegation from the Championship last season -- confirmed that he is also very interested.
"I'd love to have him at the football club," Redknapp said of Terry. "He's a fantastic captain and great leader.
"We've made him a good offer and we have done the best we can. It's up to John now, but we would love him at Birmingham."
Terry said in May that he hasn't ruled out retiring from football if the right offer does not materialise, and he has already begun studying for his coaching badges with a view to embarking on a managerial career.
Redknapp, however, said that the former Chelsea captain still has plenty to offer on the pitch.
"He could play for anybody still. He has got a couple of good years in him," he added. "He played for me the other week in Michael Carrick's testimonial [on June 5 at Old Trafford]. Fergie had the 2008 Champions League-winning team, I had an All-Star team and I had John at the back with Jamie Carragher -- I would have them two together all day long. They were fantastic.
"I had a chat with him and said to him to come in -- he's doing his coaching badges -- have a year or two and who knows what he wants to do in the future?"
