Patrick Roberts wants first-team football after Celtic loan spell

Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts hopes to keep playing regular football after an 18-month loan spell at Celtic came to an end.

Roberts, 20, helped Brendan Rodgers' side to win a domestic Treble and played in 38 of their undefeated 47 matches, becoming more influential in the closing months of a memorable campaign.

His future at City under Pep Guardiola is uncertain but he is determined to continue enjoying his football, amid reports linking him with a move to the Bundesliga.

When asked about his future, he said: "I don't know, we'll see what happens. I'll have a break and then go back to Man City and then we'll see where it goes from there.

"I just want to enjoy my football. I want to play every week and enjoy playing football, like I did when I was a kid. If I can do that I will be happy."

Roberts scored 11 goals this season, including one against his parent club in the Champions League, and feels his spell in Glasgow has been extremely worthwhile.

"I have come on leaps and bounds and it's all thanks to the manager and Celtic for giving me that opportunity," he said. "To win a Treble at such a young age is massive for me and I can take that on into my career.

"Not many players feel like this in their career -- the Invincibles last week and to win the Treble this week is some feat. I'm proud to play a part in it and proud to be a part of this club."

Roberts is a popular figure with Celtic fans, who want the club to sign him on a permanent basis, and he enjoyed playing in front of them.

He said: "All I can do is just thank them for the support they have given me since I came here last January. They have been tremendous and unbelievable.

"Them singing my name is a great accolade. The fans are brilliant and we showed them how good we have been this season to get the third trophy this season, and they deserve it because they have been brilliant all season."
