Bayern Munich give Mario Gotze's brother Felix first professional contract

Bayern Munich have handed Felix Gotze, the younger brother of Germany and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario, a first professional contract.

The 19-year-old, who has been with Bayern since 2014, has committed his future to the Bundesliga champions until June 2019.

The centre-back told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have the chance at Bayern as a professional.

"I will do everything I can to play my part in bringing more success to the team.''

Academy sporting director Hermann Gerland added: "We are very glad to have tied another highly talented player with Felix Gotze.

"He has already demonstrated his potential in the training sessions with the professionals and not least in the finals for the German A-Youth Championship."

The defender's older brother Mario is a former Bayern player, having spent three years at the club before returning to Dortmund in 2016.
