Man United's Victor Lindelof 'shouldn't be written off yet' - Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs has backed Victor Lindelof to come good at Manchester United like Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Jaap Stam.
Lindelof has come under fire for his performance in the 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield -- his first real taste of the Premier League -- after he was at fault for the second goal.
Lindelof, who arrived at Old Trafford in a £31 million deal from Benfica in the summer, is in line to keep his place for the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Swansea on Tuesday.
Giggs watched defenders Stam, Vidic and Evra go on to lift Premier League titles and the Champions League after tough starts to their United careers, and he insists there is no reason why Lindelof cannot bounce back and be a success.
"One player who has attracted a lot of criticism is Victor Lindelof but he certainly shouldn't be written off yet," Giggs told Sky Sports.
"Some players come to the Premier League and bed in straight away and others can take six months or even a year, as it was for Patrice Evra, Jaap Stam and Nemanja Vidic, and they went on to be unbelievable players.
"You win together and lose together and you can't single out a player, especially when he hasn't been playing regularly. He's just got to knuckle down and come through this."
Manchester United
Jose Mourinho hit out at his players following the defeat at Huddersfield, accusing them of failing to show the right "attitude."
He was particularly riled by Ander Herrera's postmatch interview during which the midfielder said the team had lacked "passion."
Giggs says Herrera has risked upsetting the rest of the United squad, as well as his manager.
"I am a little bit surprised at Ander Herrera's comments though because you wouldn't really comment about your teammates, you leave that to the manager," added Giggs, who said he is interested in the vacant manager's jobs at Leicester and Everton.
"When you start questioning you teammates' work rates, even if they weren't at it, it can set a dangerous precedent."
