Celtic face UEFA action after fan confronts PSG's Kylian Mbappe

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic after a fan came onto the pitch to confront Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe during the French side's 5-0 Champions League win at Parkhead on Tuesday night.
Brendan Rodgers expressed his disappointment after the supporter came out of the stands moments after PSG had taken a 3-0 lead and aimed a fresh-air kick at the 18-year-old forward.
Hoops fan John Hatton appeared in court on Wednesday to admit invading the pitch and assaulting former Monaco frontman Mbappe.
Hatton pleaded guilty to assault and section one of the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act (2012) -- which relates to behaviour "likely to incite public disorder" -- at Glasgow Sheriff Court, court officials confirmed to Press Association Sport.
He was released on bail and the case has been adjourned until October but now UEFA bosses are also set to take action against Celtic.
Kylian Mbappe is confronted by a supporter during Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League victory against Celtic.
Other Celtic fans were unhappy with the disruption just before the interval and Rodgers said the Parkhead club will take its own action.
He said: "The crowd reaction said it all. It is disappointing at any ground that a supporter gets on to the pitch.
"I am sure the club will deal with that. It shouldn't be anything that we should see on a football field. The crowd in their reaction told you everything you need to know."
UEFA have already fined Celtic 11 times in less than six years over fan behaviour issues ranging from pro-IRA chants to fireworks, crowd disturbances and illicit banners.
PSG have also been charged after their fans were accused of breaking seats at Celtic Park and will have their matter addressed at the same hearing as Celtic.
Police Scotland have confirmed they made at total of seven arrests at the match.
