Manchester City want to sell senior players including Joe Hart - sources

Manchester City want to offload all their senior players who spent last season away from the Etihad Stadium rather than loan them out again, sources have told ESPN FC.

Joe Hart, Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony were all sent out on season-long loans last year but are due back for preseason training at City next week.

But none are part of Pep Guardiola's plans and the club want to sell them to help fund an expensive overhaul of their squad this summer rather than allowing them to leave on loan deals again.

England international Joe Hart spent last season on loan at Italian club Torino and has said his time at City is over, with the club spending around £52 million on replacement keepers Claudio Bravo and Ederson Moraes in the last 12 months.

West Ham United and Newcastle United have both been linked with loan offersbut City want to sell rather than allow Hart to go on loan for another season and then enter the final year of his contract. They want a reported £18m for the 30-year-old, who is said to earn more than £100,000 a week.

Nasri, 30, also has two years remaining on his contract and is available for around £10m. But he is unlikely to return to Sevilla where he spent last season on loan, particularly after manager Jorge Sampaoli left to become manager of Argentina.

Mangala, who spent last season at Valencia, is available for £18m with Lyon reportedly interested.

City also want £10m for striker Bony but he could be harder to sell after a disappointing season on loan at Stoke City where he scored just twice in 11 appearances.

First-team players Nolito, Fabian Delph, Kelechi Iheanacho and Fernando are also all expected to be sold rather than loaned out this season.

The club is hoping the total sales could bring in close to £100m to add to the £20m already raised by the sales of midfielder Aaron Mooy and striker Enes Unal.
