Liverpool reject Huddersfield move for goalkeeper Danny Ward - sources

Liverpool have rejected Huddersfield's offer to re-sign goalkeeper Danny Ward after his successful loan spell last season, sources close to the clubs have told ESPN FC.
Huddersfield enquired if they could sign Ward on a permanent basis, but Liverpool have informed the Premier League new boys that the keeper is not for sale.
Ward spent all of last season on loan at Huddersfield and was their hero in the penalty shootout wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Reading in the Championship playoffs to send the club to the Premier League.
The Wales international was keen to return to Huddersfield next season for regular first-team football if he found himself down the pecking order at Liverpool.
However, Liverpool have blocked a possible move for Ward, for now, with Jurgen Klopp keen to have the goalkeeper back at Anfield to compete for his place in the team.
Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius are the No. 1 and No. 2 goalkeepers respectively at Liverpool, but Klopp is ready to give Ward the chance to stake his claim for the goalkeeper's jersey in preseason.
Liverpool are looking for goalkeeping reinforcements as last season's No. 3 keeper Alex Manninger announced his retirement last month.
