Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 400-goal milestone with Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 400th goal for Real Madrid in Sunday's La Liga match against Sevilla.
Ronaldo, who joined Real from Manchester United for €94 million in the summer of 2009, reached the feat in the 23rd minute against Jorge Sampaoli's side, pouncing onto to the rebound and firing home after James Rodriguez had forced a save from Sergio Rico.
The goal marked the three-time Champions League winner's 24th against Sevilla in his Los Blancos career, the most against any opponent.
Ronaldo has scored 281 La Liga goals for the Bernabeu side to go along with 88 Champions League strikes, 22 in the Copa del Rey, four in Club World Cup matches, three in Spanish Super Cups and an additional two in the UEFA Super Cup.
Ronaldo mentioned having reached the 400-goal mark during his postmatch interview after Real's Champions League semifinal first leg against Atletico Madrid, although most statisticians -- including ESPN's Stats & Information Group -- had him still on 399 for the club.
The difference was a goal against Real Sociedad in 2011, which teammate Pepe said belonged to his fellow Portugal international to help out in a tight pichichi race against Barcelona's Lionel Messi for the league's top scorer that year.
